OUR STORY

Since the '70s we've provided a rock 'n' roll antidote to mainstream jewellery. 50 years on and we're still producing high quality, handmade jewellery in the heart of London.

1970s

The first The Great Frog shop was opened by Carol Lehtonen and Paterson Riley in 1972 on legendary Carnaby Street. London’s rock’n’roll jewellers was born.

1980s & '90s

The ’80s saw the brand’s relationships with bands and musicians blossom with the likes of Metallica’s Cliff Burton, Led Zeppelin, Motörhead’s Lemmy and Iron Maiden.

2000s

Reino, Carol and Paterson’s son, takes over the family business in the early 2000s as Creative Director and Designer of The Great Frog.

Over the next two decades TGF stores begin to pop up all over the world – in L.A, New York and Japan. Reino’s cousin and 2nd generation TGF jeweller Imogen Lehtonen-Soto is at the helm of the L.A store.

2010s

TGF remain the favourite jewellers of the world’s most significant musicians and artists, continuing our ‘70s legacy. Clientele includes Josh Homme, Jay Z, Jimmy Page, Skepta and Harry Styles.

2020s

We partnered with Harley Davidson on a collection of jewellery and clothing, fusing their iconic heritage with ours.

We caused a stir on the ground floor of Selfridges’ Oxford Street launching the Official Playboy x TGF collection in 2021, along with our custom built Playboy x TGF ’69 Shovelhead sitting on display next to iconic fashion houses Hermes and Fendi.
